Access to higher education can open pathways to skills development, employment and long-term economic participation.
Applications are now open for the South Deep Education Trust (SDET) Undergraduate Bursary Programme for 2027.
The programme supports eligible Grade 12 learners and current tertiary students from South Deep Mine’s host communities and surrounding areas, including Westonaria, Bekkersdal, Simunye, Poortjie, Borwa, Hillshaven and Zuurbekom.
Successful applicants receive comprehensive support covering tuition, accommodation, textbooks, a laptop allowance, a monthly stipend and personal development support, including mentorship and tutoring.
The bursary is available to qualifying students from households with an annual income of R350,000 or less, subject to the programme’s academic and other eligibility requirements.
