Project Overview

In partnership with Netflix, Tshikululu helped implement the Black Lives Matter (BLM) Scholarship and the Creative Equity Scholarship Fund (CESF) to finance formal studies for Black African creatives at top SA institutions (from 2021). In 2024, the partnership expanded to a Career Development Pathway combining set-based internships and vendor-led on-the-job training (with Rechord and AFDA) to build industry-ready talent.

Impact Summary

Full scholarships enabling access to accredited film/TV qualifications. Practical industry exposure via production-house internships. Vendor-based training across multiple Netflix projects, broadening skill sets. Stronger, more inclusive talent pipeline and improved employability outcomes.
